A Capybara With Priorities

One capybara has decided that cupcakes are the most important thing in the world. Not water. Not grass. Cupcakes. And they are everywhere — balanced on precarious platforms, tucked behind bouncy mushrooms, perched at the edge of things that look dangerously far away.

Capy Cakes is a collect-a-thon platformer across thirty increasingly demanding levels. Each screen guards a small number of frosted cupcakes. Collect them all and earn your way to your cozy basket — hop in, listen to your capybara make a satisfied sound, and move on to the next one. Getting there is the hard part.

The platforming is tight and increasingly unforgiving. Bouncy mushrooms send you soaring — sometimes into a thorn bush. Jabiru storks carry you across gaps if you can time your landing. Collapsing leaves give you just enough time to reconsider your choices. Sandbox fruit explodes on contact. A wind gust will push you somewhere you didn't want to go. Later levels will test your patience, your timing, and your willingness to try one more time.

You also have allies. Blue and yellow macaws who you befriend along the way, and who will swoop in and hold you up for a moment when you need it most. You can't buy that kind of loyalty. You can only earn it one cupcake at a time.

The cupcakes are worth it. This capybara is certain of this, and nothing will convince it otherwise.

You've earned every trophy

Capy Cakes is a platform game, developed by Hyperreality Entertainment and published by y-zo studio.

Trophy-wise, you are looking at an Easy completion. The estimated time to platinum is around 12 minutes.

• Because it is a cross-buy and cross-save game, you should play the PS4 version of it first.

• Be careful because the game has 2 missable trophies:

  • Reached Level 5 without once being sent back to the start of the level.

  • Finish Level 10 with a timer not exceeding 3 minutes.

• If you fail any of those, you will need to quit, start a new game and try again.

• Besides those 2 trophies, your main goal is to complete the first 15 levels.

• The game has many miscellaneous trophies:

  • In level 7, at the second mushroom, go under it, and stay idle for 10 seconds so you can sit down.

  • Complete Level 13 without triggering any sandbox fruit. I quit to the main menu, and continue the save in case I hit a fruit. I still managed to get the trophy this way.

  • In level 14, get sent back to the start of a level by a pit, thorns, and both kinds of sandbox fruit.

  • Collect the macaws from levels 5, 10, and 15, and then during level 15 call all 3 of them.

• Also, make sure to:

  • Call on a macaw for help at least 10 times.

  • Bounce on mushrooms 30 times.

• After obtaining the platinum, quit the game, open the PS5 version, and use the cross-save option to import your PS4 save into the PS5 game, and obtain a new platinum.

• The game also has cross-save across all regions.
